Other MCP clients

  1. Add the connector address as a remote MCP server over streamable HTTP.

What you can ask

  • Which of my screens are offline?
  • What is screen 2 showing right now?
  • Which items are sold out?
  • Is the lunch special on any board?
  • Put this picture on the window screen from 5 to 8 pm.

Tools

Five tools. Four only read and use no credits.

  • get_overview

Business name and time zone, every screen and whether its TV is online, menu categories, and whether a point-of-sale is connected.

    Read only
  • get_screen

One screen: the categories on its board, how many items it shows, whether it is online and whether it is portrait or landscape.

    Read only
  • read_menu

Items, prices, dietary notes and badges, with whether each item is in stock, in its serving hours and on the menu.

    Read only
  • whoami

    Which business this connection reaches.

    Read only
  • put_screen_image

Adds a picture to a media screen's slideshow, now or for a set time. Nothing already playing is removed.

    Changes a screen

Putting a picture on a screen

The first call only returns a preview and changes nothing. The assistant is told to show it to you and wait for your yes.

Example conversation

You: Put this on the window screen from 5 to 8 pm today: https://example.com/happy-hour.jpg

Assistant: I'll add it to screen 2 (Window), today from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. It joins what is already playing and uses 1 publish credit. Nothing has changed yet. Shall I go ahead?

You: Yes.

Assistant: Done. It can take up to a minute to show on the TV.

Good to know

  • Each picture uses 1 publish credit.
  • Only media screens take pictures. Menu boards build themselves from your menu.
  • The link must be a public https link to a JPG, PNG or WebP file under 5 MB.
  • A screen holds up to 50 pictures.
  • ScreenFire keeps its own copy, so the link can expire. Remove the picture in the console.

Permissions

ScreenFire's sign-in page lists these before you connect. One connection covers one business.

  • screenfire.read.restaurants

Know which business you connected and read its basic details.

  • screenfire.read.screens

See your screens, what each one is showing and whether it is online.

  • screenfire.read.menus

Read your menu items, prices and descriptions, and what is off the menu.

  • screenfire.write.promotions

Put pictures on media screens. When an assistant asks for it, it gets its own checkbox you can untick.

    Optional

No tool can

  • Connect or change your point-of-sale, or see its login details
  • Add, remove or change who can sign in to ScreenFire
  • Delete your menu, your screens or your business
  • Reach any business other than the one you picked

Data and privacy

  • The assistant only sees what the tools return. No tool returns point-of-sale logins or payment details.
  • Tool results go to your assistant's provider under its terms, such as Anthropic's or OpenAI's privacy policy.
  • ScreenFire records each change made through the connector, with the tool, the screen and the time. Our Privacy Policy covers the rest.
  • Our Terms of Service cover connecting an assistant and approving its changes.
  • Changes are rate-limited per business, so an assistant stuck in a loop can't flood your screens.

Disconnect

  1. In the ScreenFire console, open your business's Settings → Connected Assistants.
  2. Select Disconnect next to the assistant.

Access ends at once and nothing on your screens changes. Removing ScreenFire only inside Claude or ChatGPT doesn't end the access you granted.

Troubleshooting

The sign-in page says my plan doesn't include it

The connector comes with Pro and Business. Upgrade from Billing in the console, then connect again.

A screen's status is "unknown"

ScreenFire couldn't check that TV just then. It doesn't mean the TV is offline.

A screen has no menu categories

Its board is still being prepared, or your menu fits on fewer screens and this one shows a slideshow on purpose.

A picture was refused

The assistant says why: a menu board instead of a media screen, a full screen, a link that isn't an image, or too few credits.

Can it change my prices or menu?

No. It reads your menu but can't edit it. Menu changes still come from your point-of-sale or the console.

The tools stopped working

Disconnect in Settings, then connect again.
